HR Policy Advisor

Shell's head office in Norway is located in the municipality of Sola, near Stavanger.

We are looking for a Policy Advisor that can further develop our policies and provide senior policy advice that ensures transparency and respect for people based on a solid knowledge of Norwegian laws, regulations and global policies. The Policy Advisor will drive conceptual development and offer advice both to the HR community and line managers as well as participate in internal and external networks. 

The role

You’ll be part of our diverse HR Country team, responsible for driving the HR agenda in Norway. The team is experienced, likes challenges and enjoy solving them together. The team is spread across Stavanger, Kristiansund and Krakow and we benefit from working closely with experts in the global Shell organisation. Your focus will be on Policy, Compensation and Benefits for our office staff in Stavanger, Kristiansund and Florø and our employees at our operation site at Nyhamna. 

In this role you are prime on local policies, ensure they are executed as intended and you provide policy expertise based on agreed priorities. You will be involved in policy projects and will ensure that the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) is well understood. 

Accountabilities

Your focus will be on Policy, Compensation and Benefits for our office staff in Stavanger, Kristiansund and Florø and our employees at our operation site at Nyhamna. 

  • Lead of local policy development, e.g. delivers specific location policies or policies related to new Collective Labor Agreement (CLA), working together with multiple internal or external stakeholders 
  • Analysis of perceived policy hotspots
  • Prime on EVP engagements 
  • Support to CLA negotiations; incl. pay, benchmarking, analysis. 
  • Contribute to the wider Shell Network Benefits policy development

Can you handle the duality of analytical and relationship-building skills? 

In terms of experience, you are an experienced HR professional with an academic qualification (i.e. HR, Law, Psychology or Business Administration).

  • You need strong analytical skills; you are number savvy and skilled in Excel and PowerPoint,
  • You have strong relationship-building skills – you like to work in multi-disciplinary teams and know what it takes to be successful in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations (ER/IR) in a Norwegian setting (unions and staff councils) is an advantage, but you will have the opportunity to develop in this area as well.
